This Privacy Policy governs the applications, websites, and related services offered under Novelophile (collectively, the “Platform”), and describes how we handle personal data that you provide to us, or that we collect, in connection with your use of the Platform. This Policy does not extend to any other product or service that carries or references a separate privacy policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy, please refrain from using the Platform. The Platform is operated by MOMENTZOOM TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD., whose registered office is at 3 Church Street #12-01B Samsung Hub Singapore 049483 (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Should you have any questions regarding our data practices, you may reach us at support@novelophile.com.

1.Personal Data We Collect

To let you set up an account and use our services, we need to gather certain information. What we collect depends on how you interact with the Platform and the choices you make, as set out below.

Data you provide directly

Where you use the Platform as a registered member, we may collect details you choose to share, such as a display name, email address, and avatar image.

Where you use the Platform without creating an account, we do not require account-related details such as a display name, email address, avatar, birth date, or age. Device, log, usage, and cookie-related data may still be gathered automatically, as described further below.

Where you make a payment for any service on the Platform, we may collect payment-related details (for example, information tied to PayPal or other third-party payment channels) to the extent needed to process that payment. This is used solely to enable and complete the transaction you requested.

Where you submit feedback, reach out to us, or otherwise voluntarily share information with us, our staff, or our contractors, that information is likewise collected by us.

Data obtained from third parties

You may elect to share information with us that originates from third parties, or such data may be collected in the course of your use of the Platform. If you link a social media account to the Platform, or sign up using credentials from a social network, we will request access to basic profile details from that account (such as a username and email address), the scope of which depends on your settings and usage on that social network.

Data collected automatically

Whether or not you hold an account, certain information is logged automatically while you use the Platform, including:

Device data. We automatically record your IP address, mobile carrier, time zone, device identifiers (including mobile advertising identifiers), and the app version in use. We also gather details about the device itself, such as its model, operating system, network type, device ID, screen resolution, and system version.

Usage data. We automatically log your activity on the Platform, including the content you view, how long you engage with it, access timestamps, the referring URL that directed you to our site, and other details of your actions on the Platform.

2.Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, mobile identifiers, and comparable technologies (such as web beacons and Flash cookies, collectively “Cookies”) to run the Platform, enable certain features, and improve your overall experience.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that can be read by the server belonging to the domain that set them. The text typically consists of a unique identifying string, though it may include other data as well.

Web beacons (also known as single-pixel or clear GIFs) are embedded images within a webpage. When your browser loads a page containing a web beacon, it connects automatically to the server hosting that image (often operated by a third party), allowing that server to log device information and to set or read its own cookies.

We, along with our analytics and advertising partners, use Cookies to:

  • confirm login credentials
  • track traffic patterns and navigation flows across our services
  • measure total visitor counts and the device types used
  • monitor and continually improve service performance
  • tailor and enhance your online experience
  • deliver customer support

Most browsers accept cookies by default; you can typically manage this through your browser’s privacy settings, where you may delete or block cookies. Note, however, that blocking or deleting cookies may limit certain features of the Platform, and doing so may erase saved preferences, including advertising preferences, which would then need to be reconfigured.

3.How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the Platform, specifically to:

  • create and manage your account and deliver the Platform’s services, and identify you across the Platform
  • assess and understand the effectiveness of advertising shown to you and other users, and to deliver targeted ads
  • understand how you use the Platform, including across multiple devices
  • draw inferences about your interests and content preferences
  • help identify and prevent abuse, fraud, and unlawful activity
  • apply content warnings and access restrictions where appropriate
  • provide customer support and respond to inquiries
  • communicate with you, including about changes to our services
  • enforce our terms and policies and satisfy applicable legal obligations
  • with your consent, provide location-based features such as targeted advertising and personalized content
  • support security, and the broader operation, development, and improvement of the Platform
  • fulfill any additional purpose disclosed to you at the point of collection, or to which you have consented

If you use our services, your data may be transferred to, stored on, or processed by servers located outside the country or jurisdiction in which you reside. If you object to such cross-border transfer, processing, or storage, you should not use the Platform.

4.How We Share Your Data

We may disclose your personal data to select third parties, whether located within or outside your home country, including:

  • business partners, so that special offers can be extended to you through the Platform
  • service providers or agents engaged to support the purposes described in this Policy, such as cloud storage vendors handling data storage and disaster recovery, and other parties performing contractual obligations owed to you
  • analytics and advertising vendors who assist us in refining the Platform and delivering targeted ads, as described in the Cookies section above
  • our subsidiaries and affiliates, to help deliver, improve, and optimize the Platform, curb unlawful use, and support our users

Where you choose to share information with third parties outside the Platform, that information may become accessible to and usable by those third parties. The Platform may also reference or link to third-party products whose privacy practices differ from ours; any personal data you provide to such third parties, or that we share with them at your direction, is governed by their own privacy policies.

We may disclose your data to law enforcement, public authorities, tax authorities, or other bodies where legally compelled to do so.

We do not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to other companies or individuals except with your consent. We may share aggregated or de-identified data as permitted under applicable law.

5.Where Your Personal Data Is Stored

Data we collect from you may be transferred to and stored in a location outside your home country, and may be processed by personnel working outside that country on our behalf, or on behalf of our suppliers or business partners. By submitting your information, you consent to such transfer, storage, and processing. We take commercially reasonable steps to ensure your data is handled securely and in line with this Policy and applicable law.

6.Data Security

We employ reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted through the Platform; any such transmission is undertaken at your own risk. To help safeguard your data, please choose a strong password, avoid sharing it with others, and refrain from reusing it across other sites or accounts.

7.Age Restrictions

The Platform is intended solely for individuals aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly offer the Platform to, or knowingly collect personal data from, anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete that data promptly. If you believe a minor under your care has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@novelophile.com so we can address the matter.

8.Your Choices and Rights

You can review and update most of your profile details by logging into your account. We also provide a range of controls within Settings that let you manage your information, and, should you wish, you may delete your entire account there as well.

For choices relating to cookies and other analytics or advertising controls, please refer to the Cookies section of this Policy.

If you need guidance on using these controls, or wish to learn about any rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence, please reach out to us at the contact address listed at the end of this Policy.

9.Data Retention and Deletion

To request deletion of your Novelophile account, please send an email to support@novelophile.com from the email address associated with your account and state that you would like to delete your account. Our support team will review your request and process the account deletion in accordance with our applicable policies.

Please note that once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all or part of the Platform and your account-related content and information may no longer be recoverable. Following deletion, we may retain certain information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes, including in aggregated or anonymized form.

Where the data you request to delete is information we require to operate the Platform, we may not be able to continue providing all or part of our services to you.

10.Changes to This Privacy Policy

We will generally notify users of material changes to this Policy through a notice on the Platform, but you should check back periodically for updates. The “Last update” date at the top of this Policy reflects when the current version took effect. By continuing to access or use the Platform after an updated Policy takes effect, you accept the revised terms; if you disagree with the changes, you must stop using the Platform.

11.Complaints

If you wish to raise a complaint about how we handle your personal data, please contact us first at support@novelophile.com, and we will make every effort to address your concern promptly. This does not affect your right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, or to pursue the dispute resolution process set out in our Terms of Service.
